What are the beads in stretch rings called and where can I buy them?

I'm looking for the beads used to make the part of a stretch ring that goes around your finger. They're long and narrow, with holes for the thread on either end. Do these have a special name I should be using to search for them? Also, do you know any place that sells them? I tried Fire Mountain Gems but either they don't stock these kinds of beads or I wasn't looking in the right places. I also found one other seller, but she is only selling lots of one gross or 4 gross, and I really don't need THAT many of them.
