What color should i paint my nails?

I am going to my graduation party. My dress is navy blue and flowy. and the neckline has silver gems. I have silver shoes also with gems. I don't want to match my dress and I don't want french nails. I want to do them to myself. I am somewhat talented with a nail polish brush. So i'm open to any other ideas. Thanks a bunch!
