Would it fade out completely?!?

Okay so I have a natural dirty blonde hair color. I want to dye my hair to a platinum blonde, like Gwen Stefani's. The dye itself is semi-permanent, and says that it will fade out after 8 weeks. I want to know if it would fade out fully or would it leave my hair stained and blotchy?
